Man Faces Assault Charges After Wounding 4 In Portland Event
On the 19th of July, a Saturday, four people were slashed at a pop-up "celebration" on the Eastbank Esplanade in Portland, Oregon. Police in Portland responded to a report of a stabbing at approximately 3:19 a.m. and found a large outdoor assembly with hundreds of people present. Four individuals had injuries from a knife, and all were conscious upon the arrival of the officers. Two of the victims sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries, whereas the other two required stitches. A 19-year-old man from Hillsboro was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody at a hospital. He has since been charged with three counts of first-degree assault and three counts of unlawful use of a weapon. The investigation into the occurrence is ongoing.
